Try it out without a ticket

You can use the pictures below for practice. Display them on a good monitor or another device while you use TixPix to scan.

A subscription is required for saving more than one pick on a ticket. It is also needed for other new features that are planned.

Scanning

Accurate scan numbers is the most important part of TixPix™, so we will continue to develop InSight™ technology.  With the free version, tickets scanned save a single pick, the bottom one if there are multiple picks.

Only the next draw tickets are recognized. If for any reason the date is not scanned, or an old date is scanned, you'll now see a dialog to set the date to the next draw or to cancel.

Fast Scanning

Your tickets need to be printed clearly, not smudged or damaged around the numbers or dates, not folded or crumpled either. The lighting needs to be good - use the flash button all the time for the best scans. Using your forearms or wrists steady against a table edge, hold the camera steady above the ticket and move the camera so the bottom numbers fill into the orange guides. You’ll get the hang of it after a few scans. Pro TixPixers can hold the ticket in one hand and the smartphone in the other.

A clean lens and a good focusing smartphone is also important to good scans. Wipe the lens before you scan as even a slightly smudged lens can blur the numbers and even make the focusing difficult. Ever look closely at the lottery numbers? A 6 looks pretty close to an 8 except for the upper right part. So clean that lens!

Checking Ticket Accuracy

TixPix™ can read back the scan picks so you can check your ticket for accuracy. This is really cool because you don’t have to look back and forth from the draw numbers to your ticket - just keep your eyes on the ticket.
Make sure you have system volume up and sound enabled first. Have a scan in any tab screens. Long press on that scan, and tap the large checkmark that shows up on the top toolbar. Tap "Speak" TixPix™ will startup and speak each pick row by row. Just look at your ticket while TixPix speaks the numbers. For a lot of picks on a ticket, you can go to settings so you hear the numbers faster. You might have a hard time with Ludicrous speed though.
If there is an error, and on large tickets there's one sometimes, just touch that pick's number on the screen and you can then enter two digits to correct that number, just like it appears on the ticket like "07", press zero then seven in the number keypad.

Device Performance (older phones)

The premium smartphones perform the best with InSight™ technology because they have fast processors and better cameras. For older or low end smartphones, your experience won’t be as quick as for example a Galaxy S7, or LG V10. Expect to hold the camera longer while scanning and it will still work. The camera will focus every 5 seconds or so, which is normal, so just keep placing the numbers in the right spot. With more practice you'll be fast in no time, and we're always updating the scanner so that will improve speed over the next months.

Notifications

You'll get a system notification when the final draw numbers are ready for your Lottery. Just click on the notification to go directly to the app or open the app and click on "last draw" The numbers that matched will be highlighted (orange). Remember, always check your ticket for accuracy with the appropriate lottery's website whether or not TixPix™ shows a match. Also, TixPix™ can't notify you until the final draw are published on the Lottery's website (official numbers), but it is usually done within about 10 minutes or so of the drawing.
There’s also a money sign on tickets that are probable winners, so check those first!

Reminders

You can have reminders notify you ahead of a lottery draw. Goto Settings in the toolbar’s overflow menu. Tap the 2 Hours text if you want to change how far ahead to be notified. Then tap either “no tickets” or “large lottery” switches depending on what you want to be notified about. If “large lottery” is selected, you can select how large of a lottery you wish to be notified about.
